Beal Homes, a family-owned housebuilder, has commenced infrastructure works for a significant £120 million residential development in Hull’s Kingswood neighbourhood. The initial phase involves the construction of essential roads and sewage systems, paving the way for the development of the first homes.
The project, named King’s Crescent, will encompass 450 new homes across a 52-acre site located to the west of Richmond Way. This development marks another milestone in Beal’s extensive history of delivering residential projects in the area, which spans over 30 years.
Andy Devine, Construction Director at Beal, stated: “We’ve now moved onto the King’s Crescent site and local residents can expect to see our experienced construction teams carrying out infrastructure works, including roads and sewers installation, over the coming weeks before the first homes begin to rise from the ground. As with all of our developments, we’re committed to ensuring work on site is carried out with minimal disruption to the surrounding community and with full consideration for local people.”
The King’s Crescent development will be executed in two phases. Full planning permission has been granted for the initial 214 homes, while outline planning permission is secured for an additional 236 homes. The first phase will offer a variety of housing options, including two, three, and four-bedroom semi-detached, mews, and detached homes, catering to a diverse range of buyers. The first plots are anticipated to be available by late summer.
This latest infrastructure initiative follows the success of Beal’s nearby King’s Fold development, which has only 14 homes left for sale. Since 1994, Beal has successfully delivered over 1,200 high-quality homes in Kingswood.
Ross Clarkson, Sales and Marketing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the project, saying: “We’re excited to have begun work on site to enable our latest development in Kingswood and that we’ll soon be offering another opportunity to own a luxury home in this popular neighbourhood. We’ve been part of the Kingswood community for more than three decades, so we’re excited to begin the latest chapter of our story in the area.”
King’s Crescent will also feature a large managed country park, which will be planted with over 800 trees. Additionally, Beal is set to contribute financially to create 99 new primary school places in the community.
Moreover, Beal is currently funding a £2 million project aimed at enhancing flood resilience for the entire Kingswood area. This initiative involves widening and strengthening the embankment along the nearby River Hull, which will protect not only King’s Crescent but also the wider Kingswood community, now home to over 3,500 residences along with various commercial and retail establishments.
