Ege Carpets is a Danish textile flooring specialist founded in 1938 by Mads Eg Damgaard in Herning, Denmark. From its modest beginnings with just two looms, the company has grown to become one of the largest carpet manufacturers in Europe, maintaining a steadfast commitment to innovation and design excellence. It operates multiple production sites in Denmark and produces its own wool yarn in Lithuania, while serving clients globally through subsidiaries and agents across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The company designs and supplies a broad portfolio of carpets for contract and domestic markets, including wall-to-wall broadloom carpets, carpet tiles, planks and area rugs. Its product range provides extensive design freedom—from mixing tile sizes to creating bespoke rugs in any shape or dimension—suited to commercial environments such as hotels, offices, cruise ships, galleries and exhibitions. Sustainability is integral to Ege Carpets’ ethos. The company was the first in its industry to receive ISO 14001 certification and EMAS registration in the mid-1990s. It now powers its production wholly with renewable energy, recycles water in dyeing operations and reduces carbon emissions through transition from gas to clean electricity. Its “ReUse” programme promotes circularity by inspecting, collecting and refurbishing used carpet tiles, hence extending product life while lowering waste and emissions.
