Gateley RJA, the quantity surveying, employer’s agent, project management, and clerk of works division of professional services group Gateley, has enhanced its national clerk of works team by appointing three new members.
Dan Cook has been named technical director, bringing 25 years of construction management expertise. His background includes senior roles at major housebuilders such as Bellway Homes, Morris Homes, Barratt Redrow, and William Davis Homes, where he oversaw construction and customer care teams focused on delivering high-quality homes and excellent customer service. Cook holds an NVQ Level 7 Diploma in Construction Senior Management, is an associate member of the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI), and a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
Based in Gateley RJA’s Market Harborough office, Cook will lead the national clerk of works team, aiming to further develop the consultancy’s quality inspection and reporting services across residential and commercial sectors.
Joining as assistant clerks of works, Alex Turpin and Duncan Bremner bring significant industry experience. Turpin, with over 15 years in the sector, has worked with housebuilders and developers including McCarthy & Stone. He will strengthen resources in the South East, conducting multiple site inspections to monitor progress towards practical completion and managing end of defects inspections.
Bremner offers 30 years of construction experience, much of it in domestic carpentry on sites across the East Midlands for housebuilders such as Persimmon Homes, Taylor Wimpey, and Barratt Redrow. His expertise will support Gateley RJA’s clerk of works services on projects throughout the Midlands and North.
Hardeep Kooner, board director at Gateley RJA, commented: “Over the last six years, our national team has grown to 21 people, as demand for clerk of works services continues to increase in response to growing regulatory pressure across the construction industry to meet strict quality and safety requirements.”
He added: “This is the first time we have appointed both technical director and assistant roles, reflecting our continued investment in, and commitment to, establishing a dedicated clerk of works offering as part of our wider growth strategy. All three appointments bring extensive industry experience, and we’re looking forward to seeing Dan settle into his role and continue to drive the team forward, providing outstanding services for clients while also supporting the winning of new work.”
Gateley RJA is a chartered quantity surveying practice delivering quantity surveying, employer’s agent, and project management services nationwide across a broad range of property and construction projects. Its dedicated clerk of works team is strategically positioned to provide quality inspection services on construction sites throughout the UK.
