Ideal Systems, a leading broadcast systems integrator, announced today the successful completion of the relocation of CNBC’s Singapore broadcast operations to a state-of-the-art facility in Mapletree Business City. The multifaceted project involved the migration of a live broadcast facility from the existing site to the new location and the design and construction of a new facility equipped with advanced broadcasting infrastructure.

The new facility at Mapletree Business City encompasses a Master Control Room, a Production Control Room for CNBC’s Singapore Studios, and a Computer Equipment Room (CER) housing integrated systems for production, editing, playout, content management, storage, archive, and graphics. In addition, Ideal Systems designed and built NDI-enabled Multi-Media Studios in Singapore and London, capable of creating content for social media platforms, as well as serving as live broadcast and disaster recovery facilities.

The relocation project commenced with Ideal Systems conducting a thorough technology audit of CNBC’s existing facility and systems. Based on the audit findings, a comprehensive project plan was developed, which identified the systems and equipment that could be relocated to the new facility. Ideal Systems collaborated with their e-Waste recycling partner, Metalo International, to ensure the proper recycling of older equipment that was superseded by the new systems.

Peter Juno, Vice President and Director of Operations at CNBC International, expressed his satisfaction with the new facilities, stating, “With the state-of-the-art facilities at our new Asia-Pacific headquarters built by Ideal Systems, CNBC International seeks to remain at the forefront of broadcast production in the region as a leader in business and financial news.”

The Ideal Systems team worked closely with CNBC project team leads, including Jimmy Ong, CNBC Asia Director of Broadcast Operations, and Gavon Wong, CNBC Asia Supervisor of Engineering, to coordinate the design and integration of systems from multiple broadcast equipment manufacturers. Led by Ideal Systems Project Director Han van ‘t Zand, the migration and construction process required the seamless transition to numerous new broadcast systems without any disruption to CNBC’s 24×7 operations, a feat that was successfully accomplished.

“We are honoured and delighted to have completed another broadcast engineering project with CNBC, the success of which depended on great teamwork and coordination and which further builds on a relationship that dates back 30 years since Ideal Systems first built facilities for CNBC in Hong Kong,” commented Fintan Mc Kiernan, CEO of Ideal Systems in Singapore.

The completion of this relocation project marks another milestone in Ideal Systems’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge broadcast solutions and supporting global media organizations in their pursuit of excellence in broadcasting.
