Manchester-based property firm Landwood Group has launched a dedicated building consultancy and project management division, led by newly appointed director Darren Kibble.

The move underlines Landwood’s ambition to broaden its services for investors, developers, occupiers and funders.

The new division will provide expert advice across building surveying, project management and strategic estate development, to all property types.

Mark Bailey, partner at Landwood Group, said: “We are deliberately developing a new arm of the business to respond to rising demand for expert building consultancy and project management. Darren brings the experience and vision to make that happen.

“At Landwood, we pride ourselves on a down-to-earth, hands-on culture that delivers real impact. By having all the right experts under one roof, we can deliver maximum value for our clients.

“Darren’s track record with major national projects, combined with his expertise in digital transformation and client-focused delivery, ensures this new division can provide high-quality solutions that align with our clients’ ambitions.”

Darren Kibble said: “Landwood offers a proactive, collaborative approach that stands apart from traditional corporate models. After years in large advisory firms, I was motivated by the opportunity to lead a division that blends technical expertise with practical solutions for complex projects.

“With rising costs and rapidly changing planning regulations in a highly challenging construction sector, strategic, agile advice is now more critical than ever. Our division provides forward-looking guidance to help clients navigate these complexities and succeed.”

Darren joins Landwood from Currie & Brown UK Ltd, where he directed building surveying operations across Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham.

Darren has more than 20 years of experience across consultancy and client-side roles, including senior positions at Faithful+Gould, Knight Frank LLP and the University of Salford. He has delivered major projects such as New Adelphi and Peel Park student village.

At Currie & Brown, Darren rebuilt and expanded the Manchester building surveying team, securing high-profile commissions across healthcare, education, commercial and public sectors.

At Landwood Group, Darren will lead the development of the new division, focusing on service innovation, client engagement and sector diversification.

The appointment supports the firm’s wider strategy to grow its market presence following consecutive years of record performance and a management buyout in 2023.
