NavLive Advances in Cemex Construction Startup Competition 2025 with AI-Driven 3D Scanning Innovation for Sustainable Building Solutions
NavLive, the UK-based AI-driven 3D scanning company transforming the way buildings are surveyed and documented, has been shortlisted as a winner for the Cemex Construction Startup Competition 2025.
The company, which secured £4m in funding earlier this year, will join a shortlist of 13 other businesses to compete in one of the build-environment’s premier global start-up challenges in the “Future of Construction” vertical. The competition is dedicated to companies driving digital transformation across the industry through autonomous systems, robotics, smart buildings, industrialised construction and other frontier approaches to the built environment.
NavLive will showcase its handheld scanner on 18th November 2025 in Helsinki, Finland during the European Pitch Day at the RECOTECH conference, joining fellow winners, investors, and global construction leaders.
Now in its eighth year, the Construction Startup Competition is one of the industry’s largest innovation programmes, hosted by Cemex Ventures and its global partners including Caterpillar, Ferrovial, Hilti, Leonard, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Trimble, Dysruptek by Haskell, and Zacua Ventures to identify and accelerate technologies driving digital transformation across the built environment.
The competition will judge pioneers in the construction industry across sustainability, efficiency, construction workflows, and disruptive startups.
Developed by academics in robotics research at the University of Oxford, NavLive’s handheld device can scan buildings and generate precise site drawings within a matter of minutes. By delivering site data faster and more accurately, NavLive helps reduce delays, cut repeat visits, and create more sustainable solutions to construction projects.
Chris Davison, CEO of NavLive said: “We are honoured to be a finalist for this year’s Cemex Construction Startup Competition and see it as an incredible milestone for NavLive. It recognises not only the progress we’ve made in bringing AI and real-time 3D scanning into construction, but also the industry’s demand for faster, more reliable building data. We’re excited to showcase our technology in Helsinki alongside a strong global cohort and to work with the competition’s partners on providing innovations that can truly transform the way our built environment is planned, delivered and maintained.”
