Orbit Spaces has significantly enlarged its District workspace at 55 King Street in Manchester’s city centre, introducing a new floor that combines coworking areas, meeting rooms, and a versatile event space. This development addresses the rising demand for premium, adaptable office environments among local businesses seeking a central and prestigious location.
Originally launched as a single meeting room facility, District has evolved in response to increasing usage and limited availability during peak periods. The latest expansion transforms the venue into Orbit Spaces’ most comprehensive offering to date, featuring a coworking hub designed to accommodate up to 20 individuals, alongside two fully equipped meeting rooms and a flexible event area.
The coworking hub includes private call booths, comfortable seating, and complimentary refreshments, highlighted by a high-quality coffee machine. The meeting rooms are designed for groups of up to 12 and 7 people respectively, each fitted with full audiovisual equipment and large screens suitable for presentations and video conferencing. The event space, which integrates seamlessly with the coworking area, can host between 20 and 30 guests for networking events, briefings, and informal meetings.
This expansion reflects broader changes in workplace preferences, with businesses increasingly prioritising flexibility within professionally managed and thoughtfully designed settings. Many companies now opt for multi-use spaces that relieve them of maintenance responsibilities, allowing teams to concentrate on collaboration and productivity.
Kieran Jones, co-founder of Orbit Spaces, commented: “It’s really important to us to create spaces that local businesses and our existing clients can both make use of. This expansion into the city centre of Manchester, in the prestigious building of 55 King Street, gives us just that. It’s an opportunity to really make available to local clients and businesses just what makes Orbit Spaces great.”
District embodies Orbit Spaces’ established approach across its North West locations, combining quality, considered design, and competitive pricing to fill the gap between traditional serviced offices and high-end workspace providers. With the new floor now operational in Manchester, the company intends to continue expanding its network of flexible workspaces throughout the region.
The new floor at District officially opened following a launch event on 17 June 2026 and is currently accepting bookings. Businesses and individuals interested in learning more, arranging visits, or reserving space are encouraged to contact the Orbit Spaces team.
