Pink Storage Opens New £1.2m Self Storage Facility in Washington
Pink Storage
Pink Storage has opened a new self-storage facility in Washington, Tyne and Wear, marking the company’s 25th UK site – the second new opening this year – and a significant investment into the North East.
The £1.2 million development, located on a 1.1-acre site, delivers 220 storage units across a 35,000 sq ft purpose-built facility, providing modern, flexible storage options for residents and businesses in the vicinity.
Washington was selected for its strategic position in the North East of England, roughly equidistant between Newcastle, Durham, and Sunderland, and supported by excellent transport connectivity.
The facility will be open daily from 6 am to 11 pm, mirroring Pink Storage’s established model across its other UK branches. It incorporates a state-of-the-art technology and security stack, developed over the past decade, including drive-up access to every unit, secure PIN code entry, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) gates, and monitored CCTV, ensuring ease of use and high levels of security.
Scott Evans, CEO of Pink Storage, commented, “Opening our Washington site is another important milestone for Pink Storage as our 25th location, and demonstrates our strong vote of confidence in the North East. The area offers excellent connectivity to meet the growing demand from households and local businesses. This investment reflects our commitment to bringing high-quality, technology-led storage facilities to well-connected regional locations.”
The Washington opening forms part of Pink Storage’s wider growth strategy, with plans to scale to more than 300 locations nationwide.
