RBH Hospitality Management, a prominent hotel management company, has announced a strategic partnership with Swurf, a pioneering venue sourcing app. This collaboration aims to boost revenue and attract more customers to its portfolio of 55 hotels across the UK.
Swurf, based in Edinburgh, recently secured a £200,000 funding boost to support its expansion efforts. The app connects remote workers with flexible workspaces, including hotels, restaurants, and bars, facilitating a productive environment for users. Since its inception in 2020, Swurf has amassed 13,500 users and over 450 partners, generating an estimated £2.12 million in additional revenue for venues.
Will Macpherson, the group director of food and beverage at RBH Hospitality Management, commented on the partnership, stating, “Hybrid working has changed what the working day looks like for hundreds of thousands of people across the UK, and our venues are perfectly placed to meet the growing demand for remote, but socially pleasant working locations.”
Macpherson added, “Partnering with Swurf opens our doors to an ever-increasing number of potential guests, driving up revenue across our entire portfolio while also creating spaces where people can work, connect and feel part of something beyond their home office.”
RBH Hospitality Management offers a comprehensive in-house hospitality management solution that encompasses operations, commercial, and facilities management. Its hotel portfolio ranges from Aloft in Aberdeen to Ibis and Mercure hotels in Paignton, Devon.
Nikki Gibson, founder and CEO of Swurf, highlighted the changing work landscape, noting that “40 per cent of UK adults now either have hybrid working arrangements or operate in a full remote working fashion. While this can be beneficial in lots of ways, it has also led to a growing sense of isolation amongst our workforce, which is having a knock-on effect on mental health.”
Gibson further explained, “Swurf was born from a desire to provide easily accessible, social, remote working options that provide bright, warm, welcoming and comfortable alternatives to working at home in isolation day after day.”
She also pointed out that the app supports the hospitality sector during off-peak times, encouraging new footfall and revenue while aiding the remote working community.
