Chase New Homes is advancing construction on Saffron Park, a 13-acre mixed-tenure development in Saffron Walden that will feature 101 private sale properties alongside 67 affordable homes delivered in partnership with B3 Living.

The affordable housing component comprises 38 apartments and 29 houses designed to accommodate diverse needs. Of these, 70% will be allocated for Affordable Rent, providing below-market rental rates to eligible local residents. The remaining 30% will be offered through Shared Equity, a scheme enabling buyers to part-own and part-rent their homes, facilitating entry onto the property ladder.

Situated in one of the region’s most desirable locations, Saffron Walden boasts an average property price of £455,032, notably higher than the UK average of £378,304. The affordable homes at Saffron Park aim to support local residents in securing rental or ownership options within this sought-after market.

Construction progress is significant, with foundations, substructure block and brickwork, and block and beam completed for the first 24 plots. Above-ground brickwork has commenced, and road formation for these homes is underway, with tarmacking expected to finish by the end of June. Foundations have now been laid for 71 houses, and substructure brickwork is complete for four apartment blocks, marking over half the site’s groundwork as finished.
