St Moritz Hotel Launches Petrol Price Discount for Staycationers Amid Travel Changes
In response to a survey indicating that up to 40 per cent of holidaymakers are altering their travel plans and opting for domestic holidays this Easter, St Moritz Hotel & Cowshed Spa in Rock, Cornwall, has introduced a unique initiative aimed at easing the financial burden of increased petrol prices for UK travellers.
The surge in global oil prices has led to a 15% increase in fuel costs, prompting many to reconsider their plans. To counteract this, St Moritz Hotel & Cowshed Spa has rolled out a ‘pumped up petrol prices be damned’ discount, which reimburses guests for the additional petrol expenses incurred while travelling to Cornwall.
According to the RAC, over 19 million road trips were taken in the UK during the Easter holidays in 2025, with significant traffic heading to Cornwall and the South West. The hotel has strategically grouped postcodes to provide discounts based on the distance travelled. Guests from Wales and the South West can use the Tank-Top-Up code for a £15 discount. Those travelling from the South East, London, and the Midlands can apply the Say-No-To-Surcharges code for a £20 discount, while visitors from the North and Scotland can benefit from the Fuel-My-Holiday code, which offers £30 off per carload.
This offer applies to all new bookings for the hotel’s diverse range of accommodations, including rooms, suites, apartments, penthouses, and houses, made by 12th April for stays before 1st July.
