The Gymnastics Academy to Open First Scottish Venue at GRID Braehead This Summer

GRID Braehead has secured The Gymnastics Academy as its newest tenant, marking the provider’s inaugural Scottish location. The specialised gymnastics centre is set to launch this summer within a 4,000 sq. ft unit at the entertainment complex.

Known for its focus on holistic child development beyond just athletic training, The Gymnastics Academy operates with a maximum coach-to-child ratio of five to one. This small-group coaching approach ensures personalised attention, fostering confidence, skill development, and a lifelong appreciation for movement among its young participants.

The new facility will offer gymnastics and ballet classes tailored for parents and toddlers, enhancing GRID Braehead’s family-oriented leisure offerings. In response to strong local interest demonstrated through pre-sale registrations, the operator has also introduced exclusive afternoon sessions at this location.

This addition aligns with GRID Braehead’s broader strategy to diversify its tenant mix by incorporating experience-based and complementary brands. The move aims to increase visitor dwell time and solidify the venue’s status as a premier leisure and dining destination in the region.

The Gymnastics Academy joins an established roster of entertainment and dining options at GRID Braehead, including Paradise Island Adventure Golf, Climbzone, Laser Station, FunStation, Gravity, tenpin bowling, IMAX Odeon, TGI Fridays, Five Guys, and Nando’s.

Bruce Harley, Centre Manager at GRID Braehead, said: “We’re delighted to be selected as the first location for The Gymnastics Academy in Scotland. This addition strengthens our family-focused proposition and supports our strategy to deliver a well-balanced, experience-led offer that drives both footfall and repeat visitation from across the catchment.”

Lauren Burke, Head of Service at The Gymnastics Academy, commented: “Launching our first Scottish site at GRID Braehead marks a significant milestone for the business. We prioritise high-footfall, family-focused destinations, and Braehead’s strong mix of complementary operators creates a true one-stop environment for families. This location supports our long-term growth ambitions, and we’re excited to build a strong presence within the scheme and the local community.”
