ANDREW MARTIN ANNOUNCES WINNER OF THE 2024 INTERIOR DESIGNER OF THE YEAR AWARD
British designer Matthew Williamson has been named the winner of the highly coveted Andrew Martin Interior Designer of the Year Award for 2024. This prestigious accolade, often referred to as the ‘Oscars of the design world’, celebrates the visionary work of the most distinctive figures in contemporary interior design. Known for his unrivalled use of colour, pattern, and eclectic styles, Williamson has become a design icon both in the UK and internationally.
With a career that spans two decades, Williamson’s influence reaches far beyond interiors. He first made waves in the fashion industry in the late 90s, before seamlessly transitioning into interior design. His unmistakable aesthetic, characterised by vibrant hues, bold patterns, and an element of the exotic, breathes life into every space he touches – whether it’s a private residence or hospitality project.
Reflecting on receiving the 2024 award, Williamson said: “I’ve followed the careers of previous winners of the Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year since its inception in 1996. It’s a huge honour for me to win this prestigious award this year and have my work as an interior designer recognised.”

Previous winners of this esteemed award include Kelly Hoppen, Kit Kemp, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Nicky Haslam, Axel Vervoordt, and Thomas Pheasant. This year, Matthew Williamson joins the ranks of these legendary designers, further solidifying his place as one of the foremost creative forces of his generation.
