Tina Flynn and Pru Singh, Asset Managers at Wells McFarlane are both now Associate Members of the RICS.

Two Asset Managers from the commercial property consultancy Wells McFarlane have attained Associate Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Tina Flynn, a Commercial Asset Manager, and Pru Singh, who manages both Residential and Commercial Assets, successfully completed a rigorous programme over the past year to earn this distinction.

To qualify for Associate Membership, candidates must possess four years of relevant experience, complete 48 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), pass a professionalism module exam, submit a 3,500-word summary detailing their experience across seven mandatory competencies and six technical competencies, and prepare a 2,500-word case study of recent project experience.

Pru, who has been managing both commercial and residential properties at the Lutterworth-based firm since joining in 2023, remarked, “It’s certainly been a demanding schedule to complete the four sections, especially as the experience summary required a perfect score. I’m therefore excited and proud to have passed. This really consolidates my career in commercial property. Being an Associate RICS is a recognised status; it symbolises trust and professional competency so I’m really happy to be able to add this designation to my name.”

Tina has been with Wells McFarlane for eight years, specialising in property management and lease advisory. One of her recent achievements includes renewing a five-year lease at a significantly improved rate for a pharmacy in Market Harborough. She expressed her pride in achieving this milestone, stating, “I’m so proud to be able to add AssocRICS after my name, providing a recognised validation behind the practical experience I have obtained throughout my career. Finding the time to study and complete the coursework around work and family commitments was a challenge, but I was determined to set an example for my daughter that by working hard, you can succeed.”

Tina also highlighted the significance of her achievement, coinciding with International Women’s Day, noting, “Achieving this accreditation in the same month as International Women’s Day makes it even more meaningful. Surveying is still a very male-dominated profession; I think women only represent around 30% of AssocRICS members, so I’m proud to be part of the growing number helping to readdress the balance.”

Both Tina and Pru received mentorship from Wells McFarlane’s Directors, Jason Hercock and Andrew McFarlane Holt, respectively. Andrew commented on their accomplishments, saying, “Pru and Tina have demonstrated real determination and consistent effort in building their knowledge and skills, so I’m very pleased to see them achieve Associate RICS status. This is a significant professional milestone that reflects an exceptional standard of work and a willingness to continue learning, and is thoroughly deserved.”

With their new Associate RICS status, both Tina and Pru now have a pathway to pursue full Chartership.
