Yellow has emerged as the standout colour for summer interiors, according to Beach House Art, an independent studio specialising in coastal-inspired artwork. The studio reports a significant rise in demand for its yellow-themed original pieces, a trend corroborated by Pinterest data showing a 20 per cent increase in searches for ‘Bright Yellow’ within the Home Décor category over the past month.
Sarah Weare, Co-Founder of Beach House Art, commented on the trend: “Yellow is truly having a moment in interiors, and I think that speaks to a wider mood. After long grey spells and unpredictable weather, people are craving warmth, optimism and a little bit of visual sunshine in their homes.”
She added that yellow carries a natural vibrancy but can also offer a soft, comforting effect when presented in warmer, buttery shades. “It is a colour that instantly lifts a space, whether it is used in a bold artwork, a painted piece of furniture, a cushion or a carefully chosen accessory,” Sarah explained.
Beach House Art’s yellow collections are designed to inject warmth, character, and a playful burst of sunshine into living spaces. Their designs range from playful depictions of seagulls and oyster catchers to personalised artworks inspired by favourite song lyrics and classic book covers, all reflecting the joy and vibrancy of coastal life.
Whether displayed as a statement piece or used to brighten a subtle corner, the studio’s yellow artworks provide an accessible way to incorporate the colour’s uplifting qualities into home décor.
Sarah emphasised the importance of using yellow as a mood enhancer rather than a dominating hue. “A flash of yellow artwork against a neutral wall can completely change the feeling of a space, while smaller accents can bring life to schemes that are built around whites, creams, greys or natural materials.”
She also noted that while ‘Cloud Dancer’ has been named the official colour of the year, yellow is poised to challenge that title. “It brings personality, warmth and happiness into the home, which is exactly what many people are looking for right now.”
Established in 2022 by Brian MacShane, Sam Clapp and Sarah Weare, Beach House Art was founded out of a shared passion for the coast, the outdoors, and high-quality design. The company aims to offer affordable, premium wall art to those inspired by ocean living.
The studio’s yellow framed prints are currently available, with prices starting at £49.
