BSP Consulting, a civil and structural engineering firm based in the East Midlands, has announced the appointment of three new directors to its senior leadership team. Carol Ell, Monika Anszperger, and James Payne, all of whom have been integral to the company for several years, will now take on director roles to support the firm’s ongoing growth and success across its East Midlands offices.
Carol Ell, who has been with BSP since 2004, has been appointed as Director of Civils. Based in the Leicester office, she brings expertise in flood and risk assessment as well as drainage strategy design. Throughout her tenure, Carol has progressed from civil engineer to Lead Associate and Associate Director, managing projects that range from large residential developments to small rural social housing initiatives, including various industrial and commercial projects.
Monika Anszperger, who joined BSP in 2014, has extensive experience in structural engineering design for large, complex projects. As the new Director of the Derby office, she will oversee project management and the coordination of consulting engineering services across all sectors.
James Payne began his career at BSP as an apprentice in 2001 and has since advanced to Finance Manager and then Associate Director. He now assumes the role of Director, focusing on IT infrastructure and administration.
Carl Hilton, Managing Director at BSP Consulting, expressed his confidence in the new appointees, stating: “Carol, Monika and James have each been with BSP for a number of years and are already well-respected senior leaders within the business. They have made significant contributions to the company’s management and effectiveness and have consistently demonstrated strong leadership, professionalism and commitment to our core values and long-term success. We’re really pleased they are embracing their new roles and wish them every success in helping to drive the continued growth and success of the business.”
As part of this leadership transition, Clive Roddick and Tony Goddard will be stepping down from their director positions. Clive, a founding Director of BSP, will remain involved as a consultant, continuing to serve as a key client contact and technical lead. After over two decades with the firm, Tony Goddard will retire, leaving behind a legacy of significant contributions to the company’s growth and success.
The new director roles will officially take effect from 1st April 2026. For further information about BSP Consulting’s services in civil, structural, transportation, geotechnical, and environmental engineering, visit bsp-consulting.co.uk.
