In 2026, wellness is increasingly moving from traditional spa settings into private gardens, as homeowners seek to create dedicated spaces for relaxation at home. Garden building specialists Tuin report a significant rise in interest, with Google search data showing a surge in the term ‘home wellness’ this year.
Ben Chatten, Head of Product at Tuin, explained the trend: “People are busier than ever, and there is a growing desire to create spaces where they can properly switch off without having to book a spa day or travel somewhere specific. A garden sauna taps perfectly into that shift because it gives people a dedicated wellness space at home, while still feeling like a genuine escape from the main house.”
Homeowners are now approaching their homes and gardens with greater intention, aiming to support relaxation, recovery, and everyday wellbeing through thoughtful design. Tuin’s range of outdoor saunas offers a way to transform wellness from an occasional indulgence into a daily routine, providing a spa-like experience without leaving the property.
Ben highlighted the benefits of garden saunas beyond the summer months: “Stepping into a sauna encourages people to slow down, put their phone away and take a proper pause. Gardens are often thought of as summer spaces, but a sauna makes the outdoors feel useful even in colder months. That is especially attractive in the UK, where homeowners want to get more from their gardens beyond the warmer weeks of the year.”
For those considering installing a sauna, Ben recommends integrating it into a broader outdoor design scheme. “The surrounding area matters. Simple additions such as a clear pathway, robe hooks, a bench, outdoor lighting or planting can make the whole experience feel much more polished and spa-like,” he said.
Tuin’s research, conducted via the Google Trends platform, revealed that searches for ‘Home Wellness’ have reached their highest level since records began in 2004. The company’s outdoor saunas are currently available, with prices starting at £4,721.54.
