Hug Rug, known for pioneering washable rugs, has teamed up with Graham & Brown, a UK interiors brand with an 80-year design heritage, to release a new collection that highlights British manufacturing and design excellence. Both family-owned companies share a commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship, which is reflected in the ten new Eco-Washable Rug and Runner designs featuring Graham & Brown’s iconic patterns.

The collection blends practicality with style, offering machine-washable, lightweight rugs made from recycled plastic bottles. The rugs are designed to endure the rigours of busy homes, with natural rubber backing sourced sustainably to provide a non-slip finish.

Designs in the collaboration include a mix of floral and foliage motifs alongside bold statement prints, all emblematic of Graham & Brown’s distinctive aesthetic. This partnership merges Hug Rug’s dedication to British craft with Graham & Brown’s hand-finished design expertise, showcasing the creativity and attention to detail central to both brands.

With a palette ranging from vibrant colours that energise spaces to soothing neutrals that promote calm, the collection caters to diverse interior styles. Each rug aims to inspire personalised and attractive home environments, whether as a focal point or a subtle accent.

The Hug Rug X Graham & Brown range will be available from 12th August, with prices starting at £225. Customers can choose from sizes including 120cm x 185cm, 160cm x 230cm, 185cm x 275cm, and a runner size of 75cm x 220cm.

Iona Graham, Brand & Marketing Controller at Graham & Brown, said: “Bringing together two heritage British brands with shared values has created a collaboration that feels both authentic and exciting. We’re delighted to bring a selection of Graham & Brown’s most loved designs to the Hug Rug’s Eco-Washable Rug and Runner offering.”

She added: “Both brands are united by a commitment to British craftsmanship, sustainability, and a thoughtful blend of heritage and contemporary design, making this partnership a natural fit. We can’t wait to see how our customers incorporate these designs into their homes.”

All rugs in the collection are produced at Hug Rug’s family-operated mill in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, a site with a British flooring manufacturing history dating back to 1954. This collaboration fuses Graham & Brown’s longstanding design legacy with Hug Rug’s innovative use of recycled materials and natural eco rubber backing, resulting in plush, durable rugs.

Lizzie Mosley, Creative Director at Hug Rug, commented: “At Hug Rug, we’re incredibly proud to be family-run and British-made, so a collaboration with Graham & Brown just felt natural. It’s a true celebration of our shared histories as family businesses, which both put craft, creativity and quality at the forefront.”

She continued: “Hug Rug has always been about creating rugs for every home that are practical as well as beautiful, and at an accessible price point, and it was a pleasure to work with the Graham & Brown team to bring some of its classic prints from the last 80 years to life on our Eco-Washable Rugs.”

Ellie Mosley, Head of Design & Creative at Hug Rug, revealed: “Iona and I knew each other at university. We stayed in contact, and at the end of last year began discussions about a Hug Rug X Graham & Brown collaboration. Iona and I have worked closely together throughout the entire process, from adapting the Graham & Brown designs right through to the visual photography and creative direction of the partnership.”

She added: “This collaboration has brought two British manufacturers together through two women, both fourth-generation members of their family businesses, and that feels really special to us. It’s a story that goes from one factory to another, rooted in true British manufacturing heritage. It also feels significant that it’s the women who are having much involvement in both businesses; it’s something we’re both proud of and feel is worth celebrating.”

The collection will be available from 12th August via www.hugrug.co.uk and www.grahambrown.com/uk, with prices starting at £225.
