Intasite, a Teesside-based company specializing in health and safety inductions and contractor management software for secure sites, has reached a significant milestone in its sustainability efforts. The company has successfully planted more than 1,500 trees, resulting in the offset of 181,840 kilograms of CO2 emissions, which is equivalent to driving almost 500,000 kilometers in a car.

Driven by a strong commitment to becoming more sustainable and reducing its carbon footprint, Intasite initiated a unique project that involved planting one tree for every 100 inductions conducted by its clients. As a result, a total of 1,596 trees have been planted, marking a remarkable achievement in their sustainability journey.

In the initial phase of the project, Intasite’s clients conducted 59,000 inductions, leading to a commitment to plant 590 trees. This planting effort alone covers an area equivalent to approximately two football pitches. With the growing numbers, Intasite expanded the project in collaboration with Tree Nation, an online platform that partners with tree planting initiatives worldwide and collaborates with local communities to restore and maintain healthy forests.

Through this partnership, an additional 1,006 trees have been planted at the Project Eden Reforestation Projects in Madagascar and Nepal, further contributing to Intasite’s sustainability goals.

Danielle Croce, Director at Intasite, expressed the team’s dedication to environmental conservation, stating, “The whole team, including our children, has been actively participating in tree planting activities, contributing our bit towards the environment. We believe it is crucial to demonstrate to our clients that we share similar values and that we are a responsible business in their supply chain.”

Croce also emphasized the long-term vision for the project, expressing hope for the growth of an entire Intasite forest in the coming years. Such an achievement would not only signify the success of the business but also leave a lasting legacy for future generations, built upon the hard work and dedication of the Intasite team. Croce concluded with a well-known adage, saying, “‘A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.'”
