Landed Real Estate has officially launched in Aberdeen, marking the rebranding of Hutcheon Mearns Real Estate. The newly formed company unites founder Iain Landsman with industry veteran Derren McRae, who has stepped down from his position as Head of Office at CBRE Aberdeen to become co-owner.
Landsman and McRae previously collaborated at CBRE, where they developed a leading advisory practice and earned reputations as trusted experts in the commercial property sector. Their reunion signals a strategic move to strengthen their presence in Scotland’s commercial property market.
Since its founding by Iain Landsman in March 2023, Hutcheon Mearns Real Estate quickly established itself as a significant player in Scotland’s commercial property arena. The company’s innovative approach, grounded in providing honest, client-focused advice as if managing their own assets, has driven notable achievements within its first three years.
The rebrand to Landed Real Estate coincides with McRae’s arrival as joint partner. Additionally, the firm welcomed back David Gavan in December 2025, who has gained recognition as one of Scotland’s most promising young talents in the sector. His enthusiasm and growing profile further enhance the company’s capabilities and ambitions.
Reflecting on the journey, Iain Landsman said, “The last 3 years have been the most rewarding professionally of my career as I took the leap of faith to move from the comfort of a corporate environment to founding my own business.
