National student lettings agency loc8me has announced its expansion into York, marking the company’s seventh city in the North of England. This addition enhances loc8me’s growing network, which already encompasses Newcastle, Durham, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, and Hull, as the Midlands-founded business continues to establish itself in the region’s university markets.
Headquartered in Loughborough, loc8me now operates in 19 major university cities across the UK, managing over 3,500 properties and providing accommodation for more than 8,000 students. The new properties in York will be overseen from the company’s regional office in Leeds, amidst a competitive landscape for quality student housing in the city.
In York, loc8me will offer a comprehensive property management service, catering to the needs of the city’s more than 22,000 students. This service includes tenancy management, maintenance coordination, compliance oversight, and 24-hour tenant support.
Raffaele Russo, founder of loc8me, commented on the expansion, stating: “Students in York have very clear expectations about where and how they want to live. It is a city that values quality, consistency and trust, and that aligns closely with how we’re looking to support those students.”
All properties managed in York will adhere to loc8me’s Seal of Approval framework, which establishes standards for safety, presentation, and quality across the company’s national portfolio. This expansion follows a successful year for loc8me, which earlier in 2026 facilitated over 7,500 student moves throughout its UK portfolio while collaborating with more than 500 landlords.
Russo further remarked: “York strengthens our northern presence in a meaningful way and is such an important city in the region’s student market. Northern university cities deserve the same consistency and professionalism that students expect anywhere else in the country. Every new city gives us that opportunity to raise standards by improving the overall experience students have while they are here.”
