MEC Consulting Group Expands with New London Office to Support Growing Demand

MEC Consulting Group, a multi-disciplinary technical consultancy, has inaugurated its fifth office in London, located at Percy House on Gresse Street in Fitzrovia. The new branch will initially provide Lighting, Flood Risk, and Drainage services under the leadership of Managing Director Alex Bennett.
Alex Bennett stated, “The decision to launch in London has been driven by our organic growth. Whilst we already have a strong presence in Brighton, recent demand within London has accelerated significantly, so we were confident this move would allow us to better support clients both within the city and across the wider South East.” He added, “Following a record year of trading in 2025, the timing also felt right to build on that momentum and strengthen our profile in a key market. Our London office is centrally positioned, offering improved accessibility and strong regional coverage for the next stage of our growth.”
MEC’s portfolio across London and the South East includes several notable projects: civils infrastructure design for Sunset Studios in North London, which is set to become one of the UK’s most advanced and efficient filming locations; ground investigation supporting the rewilding of Northwall Road within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park into a biodiverse linear park; and flood risk, drainage, geo-environmental, and acoustic analysis for an outline planning application to redevelop the former Pumping Station at Laburnum Place in Sittingbourne, Kent, into 26 residential apartments.
Additional projects include a topographical survey and drainage strategy facilitating the expansion of Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet to incorporate three new indoor padel courts, as well as multi-disciplinary advice on strategic land sites across Essex and Kent for longstanding client Richborough, which is advancing plans for over 1,500 new homes.
Alex Bennett highlighted the firm’s recent successes, saying, “Recent project wins have seen us deliver a diverse range of schemes across the region, and the pipeline continues to look healthy, particularly within residential development, which remains one of our specialisms.” He further explained, “We are excited to launch London with two core disciplines, however seamless collaboration with established teams in our other offices means clients will have access to the full breadth of our expertise from day one.”
Looking ahead, Alex outlined MEC’s ambitions: “As we continue to grow, our ambition is to build a full, multi-disciplinary presence in London, with all ten of our services represented. We are already actively recruiting, including for an associate director to lead our Flood Risk & Drainage discipline, alongside other technical roles and experienced project managers, ensuring we can continue to deliver the high standards of client care and specialist expertise we are known for.”
Alongside the opening of its London office, MEC Consulting Group is strengthening its engagement with the city’s property and built environment sectors through regular participation in events such as London Property Face-to-Face, The Build Club, and FBE London & South East.
