Interest in Mediterranean-style interiors is surging among UK homeowners, according to recent data from Beach House Art, a studio specialising in coastal-themed artwork. Analysis of Pinterest trends reveals that searches for ‘Mediterranean Interior’ have increased by 50 per cent in the past month and 40 per cent over the last year across Great Britain and Ireland.

In response to this growing demand, Beach House Art has introduced a new series of fine art prints featuring blue and white hues inspired by the coastal aesthetics of Greece, Italy, Spain, and the broader Mediterranean region. The collection comprises 12 pieces showcasing traditional seaside motifs such as shells, seaweed, and marine life studies.

Sam Clapp, Co-Founder of Beach House Art, commented on the appeal of Mediterranean interiors: “Mediterranean interiors have become popular because they offer the sense of escape many homeowners are looking for. There is a real appetite for homes that feel lighter, calmer and more relaxed, and that sun-washed southern European look brings instant warmth without feeling overly decorated.”

He further explained the enduring relevance of the blue and white palette: “Blue and white is a timeless combination, but it feels especially relevant now. It has that fresh, coastal quality people associate with holidays, sea views and long summer days, yet it is also incredibly easy to live with in a British home.”

This latest collection adds to Beach House Art’s existing range of European-inspired prints, which celebrate the region’s visual and culinary culture. Previous collections have included kitchen art influenced by Mediterranean tiles, highlighting freshly caught seafood and vibrant citrus fruits, as well as food-themed prints featuring fresh produce and crustaceans set against colourful tablecloths.

Clapp noted the practicality of art prints in home decoration: “Not everyone wants to repaint, retile or completely redecorate to bring a trend into their home. Prints are a simple way to introduce that Mediterranean feeling, whether styled against neutral walls, natural textures, pale woods or layered with ceramics and linen. It is about creating a little pocket of sunshine at home.”

Beach House Art’s framed European-inspired prints are currently available, with prices starting at £49.

Note: Pinterest searches for ‘Mediterranean Interior’ in Great Britain and Ireland’s Top Monthly Trends category have risen 40% over the past 12 months and 50% in the last month, as of 24 June 2026.
