Strettons, the London-based property specialist, has appointed Olivia Boulting as a Director and auctioneer, marking a significant step in the firm’s expansion plans. Known widely as the ‘Queen of the Gavel’, Olivia brings over 15 years of experience in the property sector, spanning estate agency and auctions.

Before joining Strettons, Olivia served as Regional Manager and Auctioneer for Auction House UK’s Southern territories, overseeing teams across Bristol, Devon, and Cornwall. Her expertise covers advising a diverse client base, from private investors to institutional buyers, on transactions involving residential and commercial properties as well as land.

Olivia’s prominence in the auction world extends beyond her sales achievements. She is a familiar face on television, having appeared on the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer, and co-hosts The Auction Edit podcast, which explores key topics and personalities shaping the auction industry. Her active role in promoting best practices is further demonstrated by her position on the advisory board of NAVA (Propertymark) and her current chairmanship of the Plymouth Area of Property Professionals Association (PAPPA).

In her newly created role at Strettons, Olivia will spearhead the growth of the auction department. She will work closely with clients throughout the auction process, combining her passion for property with a commitment to excellent customer service. Her responsibilities will include business development, managing client relationships, and leading auctions from the rostrum.

Andrew Brown, Director and auctioneer at Strettons, commented: “Olivia is one of the most recognisable auctioneers in the business and we are delighted she has chosen to join us. She has built a genuine following across the South West and beyond, not only through her impressive sale results but also through her commitment to engaging a wider audience and promoting a greater understanding of the auction market, achieved through her regular attendance at property networking events and her role as host of one of the industry’s foremost property auction podcasts. That combination of rostrum experience and profile is exactly what we want as we continue to grow the department.”

Olivia expressed enthusiasm about her new position: “Strettons is one of the best-known auctioneers in the country with a catalogue that runs from London investments through to lots the length of the UK, so the chance to be part of that was one I did not want to miss. I was attracted by the combination of Strettons’ heritage, specialist property knowledge and forward-looking approach. It is a highly respected name with deep expertise but also has the ambition and energy to keep developing and that is really exciting to be a part of. Just as importantly, its approach feels personal. Property is ultimately a people business, and Strettons’ emphasis on relationships, trusted advice and delivering results strongly reflects how I like to work.”

Relocating from the South West, Olivia joins Strettons ahead of the firm’s next national property auction scheduled for Thursday 10 September. The catalogue is currently open for lots, closing on Friday 21 August. The auction will be live streamed, allowing for remote bidding.
