Oxfordshire Couple Finds Bliss in Customised New Build Home

Buying and selling a house is never easy, but it was very exciting when it came to choosing our finishing touches with Pye Homes, something you don’t often experience with a new build.”  Heather

Heather, her husband Daniel, and their 18 month old baby made the move into one of Pye Homes’ Church Farm properties in February 2024. Describing it as a ‘straightforward process’ that ticked all their boxes, six months on Heather and her husband share with us why they chose this development in particular and what life is like in their new build home.

We chose the Church Farm development as it ticked a number of boxes. The location of Radley was perfect – near to both our workplaces, a little community village with great connections to Oxford and London via the train and the bus, and then the Church Farm development itself because of the positive things we had heard about Pye Homes from friends who had bought Pye Homes in both Marcham and Long Hanborough in the past. Also, the sizes of the houses and the gardens are great for new builds.”

Like Church Farm, Heather values her connection to nature and found a lot of synergy with her values and that of the Oxfordshire housebuilder Pye Homes, and this was one of the main contributing factors for choosing this development in particular.

Heather continued, We were really pleased to hear that Pye Homes had taken the natural habitat and biodiversity into consideration when building. As a result, we are a few houses down from a large nature walk that was created to protect badgers. We already have so much wildlife in our garden including bats circling at night – it’s wonderful! Our last home, which was also a newbuild, took nine years to even get birds into the back garden, so this is such a treat for us!”

Another appealing bonus that drew Heather and her family to the Church Farm development is the customisable finishing touches that were available for their home from the very beginning. Pye Homes assisted the couple in selecting materials and finishes from their hand-picked range of suppliers to add their personal touch to the new build property.

Heather said, Buying and selling a house is never easy, but it was very exciting when it came to choosing our flooring and our kitchen’s finishing touches with Pye Homes, something you don’t often experience with a new build.”

When asked about what they love most about their new home, the family responded, “Our new home has so much space and so much potential to make it our own. We feel incredibly lucky to live in such a lovely house that is warm and cosy in the winter. The big back garden is amazing but I think we both agree when we say that we love our kitchen-diner the most – it’s a big light space where we spend most of our time in the day.”
