Twyford Park Development Marks Key Milestone with Topping Out Ceremony in Ealing

Latimer, the development division of Clarion Housing Group, has celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of Twyford Park in Ealing by marking the topping out of the project alongside construction partner JJ Rhatigan. The event highlights the ongoing transformation of the historic site into a vibrant new community.

Once completed, Twyford Park will offer 296 high-quality homes nestled within historic parkland, with half of these properties designated as affordable housing. This includes 70 homes available for London Affordable Rent and 68 Shared Ownership units.

The topping out ceremony took place on 4 August, attended by representatives from Latimer and JJ Rhatigan, as well as local officials including Cllr Peter Mason, Leader of Ealing Council; Cllr Louise Brett, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Safe and Genuinely Affordable Homes; and Cllr Monica Hamidi, Cabinet Member for Good Growth. Attendees participated in a ceremonial mortar laying using specially engraved trowels before touring the site to observe progress on the new homes, heritage restoration efforts, landscaping, and visiting Latimer’s marketing suite and show home.

Currently, 158 homes are available for private sale, ranging from one-bedroom studios to two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as three-bedroom townhouses. Prices start at £349,950 for a studio apartment and reach up to £935,000 for a three-bedroom townhouse. With strong interest already evident, this presents an attractive opportunity for prospective buyers.

Shared Ownership homes will be launched from the site in September, offering shares starting at 25% and deposits as low as £5,250. This initiative aims to assist more people in entering the property market and eventually achieving full ownership.

The entire development will ultimately provide 326 homes, with the first residents expected to move in from spring 2027.

The opening of the south lawn and the extensive landscaping works will create a wonderful new outdoor space for the community.”

The development will revitalise one of Ealing’s most significant historic sites by combining modern homes with the restoration of Twyford Abbey’s heritage buildings and surrounding landscape. This approach aims to preserve the site’s character while creating a greener living environment.

A key feature for residents will be the reopening of the Abbey’s 1.2-acre South Lawn, which will be accessible to the public for the first time in decades. Additional enhancements include new landscaped gardens, protection of mature trees, the creation of a new community space, and increased cycle storage to promote sustainable travel.

Sustainability is integral to the development, with homes powered by renewable electricity from rooftop solar panels and heated by energy-efficient air source heat pumps. These measures are designed to reduce household energy costs for future residents.

Twyford Park is part of Clarion Housing Group’s broader collaboration with Ealing Council to address housing needs across the borough. Nearby, Clarion is also overseeing the regeneration of Sherwood Close, which will deliver 362 new homes, approximately two-thirds of which will be affordable.
