UK Locations has renewed its partnership with Bruntwood SciTech for a third year, continuing to secure filming spots across commercial properties in the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands. This collaboration has attracted major TV and film productions, generating new revenue streams for property owners while supporting the UK’s creative economy. UK Locations extends its partnership with Bruntwood SciTech, managing filming across commercial properties in the North West and beyond to attract major productions and new revenue.

One of the country’s leading filming location agencies, which has secured sites for blockbuster TV shows and films including Netflix’s House of Guinness, is celebrating after its partnership with Bruntwood SciTech – the UK’s largest property platform that develops and manages office, retail and lab spaces – has been renewed for a third consecutive year.

UK Locations (UKL) specialises in integrating film shoots into commercial properties, providing partners with a valuable new revenue stream that would otherwise go unaccessed, which is especially useful to owners and developers who are paying for a building while waiting for planning permission.

After starting to work with Bruntwood SciTech in 2023, UKL has once again extended the partnership, highlighting the success of the collaboration – to date, UKL has delivered more than 60 bookings for Bruntwood SciTech for TV and drama productions, brands, advertising agencies and production companies. Specifically for TV, film and drama, UKL has supported 27 successful shoots, attracting major productions to Bruntwood SciTech’s unique spaces.

Acting as Bruntwood SciTech’s exclusive filming agent across the North West, as well as in Yorkshire and the Midlands, UKL oversees the full end-to-end production process on behalf of its commercial partners. The company photographs and promotes each site to globally recognised brands such as Disney+, Netflix, BBC, ITV, Sky, Adidas and Nike, helping attract high-value productions to Bruntwood SciTech locations. From the initial enquiry and scouting through to on-site logistics, negotiations and final wrap, UKL manages every stage, coordinating all communications and contracts to ensure a seamless experience with minimal disruption to tenants and day-to-day operations.

One example of the partnership’s impact can be seen in the recent Amazon Prime series Lazarus, where UKL worked with producers to transform an unused breakout and café area within a Bruntwood SciTech building into a sleek, high-end creative office space. The area, which was vacant and awaiting refurbishment, was reimagined to meet the exact needs of the production, showcasing how Bruntwood SciTech’s portfolio can be adapted for diverse on-screen requirements.

More recently, UKL supported an upcoming Netflix drama from Harlan Coben, facilitating the conversion of space at Alderley Park into a premium clinical environment. While still in post-production, the project demonstrates UKL’s ability to manage sensitive, large-scale transformations that unlock new revenue opportunities from buildings across Bruntwood SciTech’s estate.

Speaking about the ongoing relationship, Lauren York, CEO of UKL, said: “Bruntwood Sci Tech has been a fantastic partner, and we’re thrilled to be continuing our work together – by engaging with us to open up its portfolio to production teams across the North West, Bruntwood SciTech is demonstrating that it’s a forward-thinking, innovative business that is keen to diversify in order to tap into additional income streams.

“By combining our industry expertise with Bruntwood SciTech’s remarkable portfolio, we’re creating meaningful opportunities not only for its buildings and the productions we support, but for the North West’s wider creative economy. This partnership has helped place Bruntwood SciTech’s commercial spaces firmly on the map as some of the UK’s most sought-after filming locations.”

The forthcoming year is set to be the most successful yet, with five high-value productions currently in the pipeline, including a new film from Steven Knight, creator of the acclaimed series Peaky Blinders; and an American feature film scheduled for early next year.

Peter Bearpark, Asset Management Director at Bruntwood SciTech, commented: “The renewed partnership reinforces both organisations’ commitment to supporting the growth of film and TV production across the North West – an increasingly important sector for the region’s economic development and cultural visibility.”

Established 18 years ago, UK Locations’ proven model, which is built on strong industry relationships, operational expertise and a deep understanding of production requirements, enables partners like Bruntwood SciTech to unlock untapped potential within their portfolios.
