UKREiiF to Launch First International Event in Australia, Expanding Global Real Estate Forum
UKREiiF, the UK’s leading Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum, has revealed plans to host its inaugural international event in Australia. This expansion aims to replicate the successful UKREiiF format by uniting international and local investors, developers, occupiers, and stakeholders from the built environment sector to explore opportunities across Australian states, cities, and towns.
The Australian edition will focus on fostering dialogue around policy and connecting global capital with ambitious investment projects spanning a wide range of sectors. These include traditional areas such as commercial property, residential developments, transport, infrastructure, and retail, as well as emerging fields like renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and defence.
Nathan Spencer, Founding Director and Managing Director of UKREiiF, emphasised the significance of this move: “Australia is entering an extraordinary period of growth, and the global players within our industry are frequently discussing the opportunities coming forward in the country. Our ambition is to create something genuinely different for the Australian market – a major international festival that tells the stories of each state, city and town across Australia, and one that builds the relationships that see global capital deployed and projects moved forward.” He highlighted the impact of UKREiiF since its launch in 2022, noting that over £4 billion in investment and development activity has been initiated directly through connections made at the forum.
The announcement marks a key milestone for UKREiiF, which has rapidly become the UK’s largest gathering for the real estate and infrastructure sectors. The event attracted more than 17,000 delegates in 2026 alone and contributes over £20 million annually to the Leeds and West Yorkshire economy, where it is held. Additionally, UKREiiF has generated over £7 million in social value and showcases investable opportunities exceeding £300 billion across the UK each year.
Matt Christie, Founding Director and Director of External Affairs at UKREiiF, outlined the vision for the Australian event: “The event will build on the principles that have driven UKREiiF’s growth, including its festival-style, strong public and private sector participation and focus on connecting places and projects with investors, development partners and the wider built environment who are so crucial to making successful schemes happen.” He added that alongside traditional sectors, the forum will address future-shaping areas such as housing, renewable energy, energy transition, digital and AI infrastructure, social infrastructure, major sporting and cultural districts, and city precinct development.
Christie also stressed the commitment to core values: “We’ll also be continuing to focus on the core values we’ve had so close to our heart with UKREiiF, from sustainability to diversity and inclusion – with a commitment to creating a platform that reflects the breadth of communities, perspectives and voices that shape Australia.”
