Welsh Hospitality Group Morgans Expands into Norfolk with Acquisition of Michelin Key Hotel The Harper
The Harper, North Norfolk
The Morgans Group, a family-owned hospitality business from Wales, has purchased The Harper, a boutique hotel in Langham, North Norfolk, recognised with a Michelin Key award. This acquisition signals the group’s entry into one of England’s most desirable leisure regions.
The Harper features 32 en-suite bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant and bar praised by critics, a games room, and a spa. In 2024, it earned the Michelin Key distinction, an international accolade awarded to properties known for delivering exceptional guest experiences, solidifying its status as a leading hospitality venue in Norfolk.
Under the leadership of Director Shon Morgans, the Morgans Group has established itself as one of Wales’ foremost independent hospitality operators. The company manages a portfolio of coastal hotels and dining establishments across West Wales, focusing on enhancing existing properties rather than overhauling them, investing in quality, and fostering talented teams to maintain each venue’s unique character.
Shon Morgans commented on the acquisition: “The Harper is a truly exceptional hotel, and it is a privilege to welcome it into the Morgans Group. A Michelin Key property of this calibre, in a setting as distinctive as the North Norfolk coast, represents a significant moment for our family business. We have long admired the standards set by the team at The Harper, and we intend to build on that foundation.”
He added, “North Norfolk and the Welsh coast share much in common: extraordinary landscapes, strong communities, and a serious commitment to food and hospitality, and we are excited to bring our experience to bear in support of the property. We are confident this marks the beginning of a very promising new chapter.”
