West Yorkshire’s Bedkingdom Expands Furniture Sales into Ireland
Levon Hall, Chief Operating Officer at Bedkingdom
Bedkingdom, the furniture e-commerce retailer based in Liversedge, West Yorkshire, has officially launched its brand in Ireland.
The new Irish website offers 90% of Bedkingdom’s own-brand bedroom and home furniture range. Customers in Ireland can shop without incurring additional duties or taxes, and orders over €250.00 qualify for free delivery.
Initially, products will be shipped from the UK as the company establishes its presence in the Irish market. Plans are underway to open a warehouse in Ireland to streamline shipping processes and enable next-day delivery options in the future.
The launch follows six months of preparation and came into effect in early September. This expansion coincides with Bedkingdom’s strong performance in the UK, marked by a 54% year-on-year increase in organic traffic and sustained commercial growth.
Levon Hall, Chief Operating Officer, explained the decision to enter the Irish market: “When we started looking at where to launch the business next, Ireland was the obvious choice because of its close proximity to the UK. We’ve done a lot of research, and Irish people tend to take a lot of pride in their homes, with a big culture of hospitality and bringing family together, which made it the perfect fit.”
He added, “There’s been a lot of hoops to jump through with preparing to enter a completely new market, especially post Brexit which has added a layer of complication for retailers that want to ship products outside the UK.”
Alongside its own brands, Bedkingdom also stocks furniture ranges from other manufacturers and suppliers. The company aims to establish partnerships with new suppliers interested in entering the Irish market.
Founded by Ashley Hainsworth, Bedkingdom began as an online mattress retailer with a £400 investment while he was studying at Huddersfield University. The business has since grown to operate three warehouses in West Yorkshire and generate over £28 million in revenue across the Flair Furniture Group.
In 2023, Bedkingdom was recognised in the Sunday Times Top 100 for achieving an average annual sales growth of 76.06% over three years. It also ranked 18th in the Ward Hadaway Yorkshire Fastest 50 in 2025.
The company offers several brand-owned furniture ranges, including Flair Beds, Flair Furnishings, Noomi, Recoil Gaming, and SOLACE+CO, alongside a curated selection of boutique brands from third-party suppliers.
