Windmill Retreat Invests Over £1 Million in Luxury Suites Ahead of Spring Season
Joanna Murphy, Marketing and Events Manager at Windmill Retreat and Elements Boutique Spa
Windmill Retreat, a family-owned establishment in rural Somerset, is preparing for its peak season with a significant investment exceeding £1 million in luxury accommodation. This enhancement aims to complement the existing Elements Boutique Spa, which has garnered popularity since its inception.
Located in Middlezoy, Windmill Retreat Lodges, Spa and Estate has introduced five adult-only luxury suites, responding directly to customer feedback. The new suites are set to be available just in time for the Spring break period, as highlighted in a feature by The Times.
Joanna Murphy, the marketing and events manager, explained that the decision to expand was driven by customer requests for overnight stays following spa treatments. “We have family-friendly, self-catering lodges here where people can have a minimum three-night stay, but we were noticing high demand for one or two nights to take full advantage of the relaxation offered by the spa. We pride ourselves in our customer care, so we listened and in response have built the Elements Suites,” Joanna stated.
Since its establishment in 2015 by the Ridgment family, Windmill Retreat has expanded its workforce to 43 employees and has significantly contributed to the local economy by sourcing Somerset ingredients and products. Local businesses, such as Bramble and Wild, which creates Mother’s Day bouquets, and Pyne’s Butchers, which supplies meat to the Levels Country Kitchen Café, have benefited from this commitment.
The newly launched Elements Suites feature exclusive access to a secluded garden equipped with a hot tub, barrel sauna, and cold-water shower. Inside, guests can enjoy glass ceiling panels for stargazing and balconies designed for soaking in the picturesque Somerset sunsets.
“We know we will be especially busy in Spring as we welcome a new season and lots of opportunities to celebrate. It’s the perfect time to focus on self-care and renewal,” Joanna added. “The Avänto Spa Garden will be looking lovely as the herbs come into flower and just as nature is blooming, so our customers will be after a rejuvenating stay with us.”
