RAW Charging Group Limited has officially launched Yorkshire’s largest high-powered public electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at Cardigan Fields in Leeds, marking a significant development in the region’s EV infrastructure.

The new hub features a total of 32 charging bays, including 14 AC fast chargers, 6 DC50 rapid chargers, and 12 DC150 ultra-rapid chargers, all available 24/7. This facility is expected to serve the 29,000 drivers who pass by the site each day, providing them with convenient access to charging options.

This initiative is part of a broader £24.5 million investment by RAW Charging and Landsec, aimed at installing EV charging bays across 25 premier retail and leisure destinations throughout the UK. To celebrate the launch, RAW is offering free charging to drivers who sign up for RAW Rewards at the new hub from Monday, 13 April to Sunday, 19 April 2026.

The Cardigan Fields installation underscores RAW Charging’s ongoing collaboration with Landsec, one of the UK’s largest real estate investment trusts. This partnership aims to enhance EV charging infrastructure at key locations, including the existing 32-bay installation at Xscape Yorkshire. Cardigan Fields is strategically located, attracting visitors from across Yorkshire, with 466,000 residents living within a three-minute drive of the hub.

Cardigan Fields boasts a diverse array of activity, dining, and lifestyle brands, including a cinema, bowling alley, gym, and various restaurants, such as Vue cinema, Hollywood Bowl, and Nando’s. This makes it an ideal location for an EV charging hub, catering to the needs of drivers while they shop, dine, or enjoy leisure activities.

The demand for electric vehicles is rapidly increasing in the UK, with one in four new cars sold in 2025 being electric or hybrid. As such, the need for accessible and efficient charging infrastructure is more critical than ever. The 24/7 availability of the Cardigan Fields hub ensures that EV drivers can charge their vehicles at their convenience.

Landsec’s portfolio attracts over 20 million visitors annually, making it a key partner in delivering EV infrastructure where it is most needed. RAW Charging’s collaboration with Landsec includes prominent sites such as Bluewater, Gunwharf Quays, White Rose Shopping Park, and now Cardigan Fields, ensuring that millions of visitors can travel with confidence.

RAW Charging has been recognised for its commitment to excellence, receiving the prestigious Zapmap Best Destination Network Award for 2026 and the ICC Gold accreditation. This recognition solidifies RAW’s position as the preferred EV charging partner for leading leisure, retail, and hospitality destinations in the UK.

The chargers at Cardigan Fields are designed for user-friendliness, offering contactless payment options and 24/7 support. Neil Broadbank, Chief Commercial Officer at RAW Charging, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to bring Yorkshire its largest high-powered public EV charging hub at Cardigan Fields. This installation is a significant milestone in our partnership with Landsec and our mission to connect amazing places across the UK. With 24/7 access and a mix of fast and ultra-rapid chargers, drivers can recharge their vehicles conveniently while enjoying everything Cardigan Fields has to offer. Our work with blue-chip clients such as Landsec demonstrates our expertise in delivering reliable, future-proof EV charging solutions that enhance the visitor experience.”

Mark Welsby, Centre Manager at Cardigan Fields, added, “We are delighted our customers can now use the new ultra-rapid charging hub at Cardigan Fields. As demand for electric vehicles in the local area continues to grow, it’s vital that our retail destinations offer the infrastructure and convenience that drivers need. We look forward to continuing our work with RAW Charging to deliver more EV hubs across our portfolio, driving meaningful progress towards net zero and creating long-term value for our communities.”
