Aerial Footage Reveals Progress on £500m Therme Manchester Development
New aerial drone footage has unveiled the significant scale and design of the £500 million Therme Manchester project, as earthworks commence to define the site for the first time. The footage captures the outline of the central circular hub, a prominent feature of the design that was previously only visible in CGI renderings.
The development spans an area approximately the size of 28 football pitches, marking a transition from conceptual plans to actual construction as the layout begins to emerge within the landscape.
Jonathan Lingham, Chief Commercial Officer at Therme Manchester, commented, “For the first time, you can see the design translating into reality. The central hub is a defining part of the scheme, and it’s now clearly visible on site as the project begins to take shape.”
As groundwork continues, the aerial footage also illustrates how the broader footprint of the development will integrate with the surrounding area. Therme Manchester has recently been announced as one of the inaugural signatories of Circularity in Practice, a nationwide initiative inspired by His Majesty The King, aimed at promoting practical approaches to material reuse and circular design.
Once completed, projected for late 2028, Therme Manchester is set to become one of the largest urban wellbeing resorts globally, featuring lagoon and wave pools, multi-sensory sauna rituals, steam rooms, water slides, and a range of affordably-priced luxury spa therapies and health and fitness experiences.
