Dorset Cottage Holidays Supports VisitEngland’s Campaign to Boost Coastal Tourism

Dorset Cottage Holidays Welcomes VisitEngland’s National Push to Get More People Booking Coastal Breaks

Dorset Cottage Holidays, a family-run holiday letting company based in Corfe Castle, has expressed support for VisitEngland’s latest national initiative aimed at encouraging more people to book coastal holidays this autumn and into 2027.

The first phase of the ‘All on England’s Coast’ campaign, running until 1 November, highlights five themed coastal clusters: Creative, Nature, Outdoor, Historic, and Classic. Dorset is featured within the South West’s Outdoor Coast cluster, which emphasises coastal exploration, seasonal cuisine, and wellness experiences.

VisitEngland’s research reveals that domestic coastal breaks have declined by 18% year-on-year, with travellers opting for shorter stays, booking later, and spending less. The organisation estimates that redirecting just 10% of overseas travel expenditure towards domestic holidays could inject an additional £8 billion into the UK economy.

Operating for over 25 years, Dorset Cottage Holidays manages more than 100 properties throughout the county. Director Leanne Hemingway commented: “We are really pleased to see VisitEngland putting such a strong focus on the English coast. Dorset has so much to offer, from the Jurassic Coast and the traditional seaside attractions, to its villages, food and walking routes, and a campaign like this helps remind people how much there is to enjoy by the coast in the UK.”

Leanne added: “Working closely with the local business community, we see every day how much visitors mean to the local economy, from pubs and farm shops to attractions and independent businesses. Anything that encourages more people to book a break in Dorset supports them all.”

The £1.2 million campaign will run again from February to March 2027, with advertising across radio, podcasts, social media, and digital platforms. It targets families and younger adults, and tourism businesses and destinations are encouraged to utilise campaign materials and share content using the hashtag #AllOnTheCoast.
