Homeowners are expected to adopt a more discerning approach to furnishing their homes this autumn, favouring pieces that combine aesthetic appeal with durability and practicality. Material choices will continue to focus on tactile finishes that convey comfort, character, and quality. Walnut, dark oak, and medium oak are anticipated to be popular wood finishes for dining and home office furniture. Upholstery fabrics such as velvet, bouclé, and textured woven materials will soften seating options, with bouclé expected to move from a novelty to a staple choice.
Matte and brushed finishes are forecast to outperform high-gloss surfaces, with combinations of black metal, brushed brass, and natural wood delivering a sophisticated yet practical aesthetic. Design elements like curved shapes, fluted detailing, and subtle textures will introduce visual interest without overwhelming interiors.
