Nike Expands and Relocates at Livingston Designer Outlet, Cementing Retail Leadership
Livingston Designer Outlet has secured a major expansion and relocation deal with global sportswear giant Nike, nearly doubling the brand’s retail space at the centre. This move strengthens the outlet’s status as Scotland’s premier retail destination and highlights ongoing retailer confidence in the scheme.
The agreement represents a key milestone in Global Mutual’s continuous development of Livingston Designer Outlet. It reflects the success of a focused asset management strategy aimed at boosting performance and supporting sustainable growth over the long term.
Livingston Designer Outlet has recently reported a 16% increase in sales year-on-year, accompanied by an 18% rise in footfall. The sportswear sector has been a significant contributor to this growth, with the centre’s sports category achieving 8% sales growth year-on-year, demonstrating strong demand for premium performance and lifestyle brands.
Scheduled to open in late September 2026, the enlarged Nike store will offer an enhanced retail environment, underlining Nike’s commitment to the outlet and aligning with Global Mutual’s strategy to strengthen its sports and performance brand offering.
This relocation is part of a broader enhancement programme at Livingston Designer Outlet, where Global Mutual is actively optimising the retail mix and creating opportunities for leading brands to expand. Nike’s new location will place it alongside internationally recognised names such as Adidas, Puma, and Under Armour, further bolstering the centre’s appeal as a destination for sports and performance products and improving the overall shopping experience.
The expanded store will feature a wider selection of Nike apparel, footwear, and accessories across both lifestyle and performance categories, providing customers with greater choice and an elevated in-store experience.
Nicky Lovell, Head of Outlets and Retail Business and Development at Global Mutual, commented: “The upsizing and relocation of Nike is a clear example of our proactive asset management at Livingston Designer Outlet. Over the past 12 months, we have been investing in the scheme to optimise the retail offer and strengthen our brand mix through unit reconfiguration. This latest commitment from Nike reflects both the strength of the destination and the confidence in our long-term strategy. By continuing to invest in the asset and work closely with our brand partners, we are creating a more compelling, high-performing environment for both retailers and customers.”
This deal follows a period of strong leasing activity and ongoing investment at Livingston Designer Outlet. Recent developments include refit commitments from Castore and NEXT, as well as new lettings to Flip Out, Tikka Nation, and Hamilton & Brown, enhancing the centre’s retail and leisure offerings as it enters its next growth phase.
