Bo Hellberg, Chief Marketing Officer at renowned Scandinavian brands String Furniture and Grythyttan Stålmöbler, outlined the dominant trends set to shape interiors this year.
One standout colour gaining traction is chocolate brown. Hellberg describes it as “a rich, earthy tone that brings warmth and softness to interior spaces.” He notes that its popularity has surged over the last year due to its adaptability and enduring style. Whether used as a bold focal point or as a refined backdrop, chocolate brown adds depth and harmony to rooms.
Highlighting innovation, Hellberg revealed that in 2026, String Furniture introduced a new dark brown and oak finish to their iconic String® System. This addition has been met with enthusiastic acclaim, quickly becoming a preferred option for modern interiors.
Comfort remains central to the season’s aesthetic, with a focus on creating spaces that feel secure and serene. Hellberg explains that the hygge-inspired trend encourages a slower, more grounded lifestyle, particularly as daylight diminishes. He recommends designing cosy nooks by layering soft wool throws and weather-resistant cushions on classic steel-framed chairs or benches to infuse warmth and comfort.
