Bruton Knowles and CIPFA Launch Asset Valuation Network Forum for Public Sector Professionals
Bruton Knowles, a national chartered surveying firm, has joined forces with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to introduce the Asset Valuation Network Forum. This new initiative aims to support public sector organisations in managing capital asset valuations through a series of dedicated sessions.
The forum was created in response to requests from CIPFA members seeking enhanced opportunities to develop and exchange expertise on asset valuation. It will assemble professionals from various local government bodies, including county councils, unitary authorities, city, town, and community councils, alongside representatives from blue-light services and universities.
Experts from Bruton Knowles will facilitate discussions addressing practical challenges such as valuation inconsistencies and the impact of legislative and policy changes within the sector.
Helen McLeod-Baikie, Head of Public Sector Valuations and Partner at Bruton Knowles, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with CIPFA on such a valuable new initiative. Our team are dedicated specialists in CIPFA valuations, consistently providing tailored and trustworthy advice to public bodies nationwide. We understand firsthand the complexities around public sector valuations and their specific requirements, and we’re excited to use our knowledge and long-standing expertise in this area to support organisations across the UK.”
The sessions will be accessible free of charge to CIPFA network members and Bruton Knowles clients. They are designed for professionals at all career stages, from recent graduates to seasoned experts seeking updates or refreshers on key topics.
Mark Poppy, Property Network Advisor at CIPFA, added: “For a while now, this new asset valuation network in conjunction with Bruton Knowles is something our members have been asking for. We appreciate Helen and her team working with us in order to start offering this support from November.”
The inaugural session is scheduled to be held online on 25th November 2026. Interested CIPFA members or Bruton Knowles clients can register by contacting Mark.Poppy@cipfa.org or publicsector@brutonknowles.co.uk.
