Taylor Maxwell, a prominent UK supplier specialising in brick, façade, and timber solutions for the construction sector, has unveiled SpecView, an innovative visualisation service designed to assist architects and specifiers in evaluating façade materials across entire buildings before finalising their specifications.

SpecView integrates real-time visualisation technology with expert advice from Taylor Maxwell’s brick and masonry specialists. This service enables architects and main contractor design teams to present early concepts or ongoing schemes, compare different finishes side by side on full elevations, and gain clearer guidance on their façade design decisions.

Targeted at the initial phases of projects, particularly RIBA Stages 2 to 4, SpecView addresses a critical period when material choices significantly impact a scheme’s design intent, performance, and budget. Unlike traditional sample boards or isolated digital visualisers, SpecView combines product selection, technical expertise, and visual comparison within a single interactive session.

The sessions, which last between 45 and 60 minutes, are offered free of charge and can be conducted at any Taylor Maxwell location across the UK or at an architect’s office by arrangement.

Jonathan Rosie, Managing Director of the Taylor Maxwell Group, emphasised the value of the service: “Architects are increasingly being asked to justify material decisions earlier and with more confidence and that is exactly where SpecView adds value.”

He added, “It is not just a visualisation tool. Every session comes with expert input from our brick specialists, so the options being explored are practical, buildable and right for the project from the outset.”

Rosie further explained, “Façade specification is about much more than choosing a material sample. Project teams need to understand how a brick will work across a whole elevation, how it supports the design intent and whether it is practical for the scheme. SpecView gives them that clarity much earlier in the process.”

SpecView complements Taylor Maxwell’s broader range of specification support services, which include CPD seminars, material specification assistance, brick matching, technical guidance, samples, product data, and specification documents. It is also available alongside the company’s existing Product Selector tool.

Architects and specifiers interested in booking a SpecView session can do so at their nearest Taylor Maxwell branch or request a visit from the team via www.taylormaxwell.co.uk/specview.
